Dear Members,
As incoming President, I gave a commitment to conduct a root and branch review of Caulfield Hebrew Congregation including all systems and processes in order to ensure that we are appropriately placed to achieve our strategic goals. In accordance with the powers conferred under the constitution, [Clause 29 part 1 (e)] the Board has approved the establishment of sub-committees across the whole spectrum of management and strategic planning for the Caulfield Hebrew Congregation. Members of the Board and Rabbi Genende OAM have volunteered to convene or join a relevant sub-committee. We are of the view that it is important to invite our members and seat holders to have the opportunity to participate in one or more of these sub-committees. The six sub-committees represent a unique opportunity for our members and seat holders to actively participate in the management and direction of the organisation.
This endeavour is part of a drive to increase engagement from our membership and to assist the Board in delivering the right outcomes for the CHC. As a result, I welcome you to give consideration to applying for a position on a sub-committee that can utilise your input and expertise.
The sub-committees are as follows:
1. Finance, Audit and Risk (risk management, finances, human capital management, fundraising)
2. Governance and Strategy (governance, strategic review)
3. Congregational (spiritual services) – Limited Spaces available
4. Engagement (membership, hospitality, communication)
5. Programs (education, activities, leadership, social action and wellbeing)
6. Community Centre (redevelopment)
It is anticipated that these sub-committees will meet approximately 6 times a year and report to the board. If you would like to register your interest to join one or more of these sub-committees, please complete this short application form below. For further information regarding the sub-committees and their terms of reference please email subcommittees@caulfieldshule.com.au
With very best wishes.
David Mond, President CHC
